About Coach Young

 

Jamie Young begins is in his 15th season with the NBA, and the 15th season with the Boston Celtics. He is an assistant coach under Brad Stevens after previously serving two seasons with Doc Rivers and four seasons as the team's Advanced Scout.

 

Prior to the 2007-08 season, Young served as the team’s video coordinator. In this role he was responsible for all the video breakdowns of the Celtic games, Celtics' opponent games and distributing this information to the coaching staff.

 

Young graduated from Blackburn College (Carlinville, IL) in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, where he played both basketball and football. An Indiana native Young currently resides with his wife, Jaynene, who is a graduate of Aledo High School and received an undergraduate and master's degree from Bradley University.  They have one son, Jamieson Thomas (6 years old), and reside in Waltham, MA.

 

He has one NBA Championship with the Celtics in 2008, and ran the Boston Marathon in 2014.
